Answers to common questions about Calority

Do I need an account to use Calority?

No. Calority has no account and no sign-up. Everything you log is stored locally on your device.

Does Calority work offline?

Yes. It's offline-first. All core logging works with no internet connection. The only time it goes online is when you search for a food or scan a barcode (to look it up on Open Food Facts).

Where does the food data come from?

Food search and barcode lookups use the public Open Food Facts database. When a product isn't there (or a value looks wrong), you can add or correct it manually.

How do I log a home-cooked meal?

Create a dish once from its ingredients and total finished weight. Calority computes the nutrition per 100 g, and from then on you log a portion by entering the grams you ate, or a percentage of the whole batch.

Can I get my data out?

Always. Calority offers a full plaintext Backup (and Restore) of your entire database, plus an Analysis Export of your diary as a CSV file you can open in Excel or any spreadsheet. There's no lock-in.

What is Health Connect Sync, and is it safe?

It's an optional feature that mirrors your logged meals into Android's Health Connect so your other health apps can see them. It's off by default and strictly write-only. Calority never reads anything from Health Connect. See the Privacy Policy for the full details.

How do I turn Health Connect Sync off or delete what was written?

Toggle it off in Settings to stop further writes. To remove the records already written, use Health Connect's own per-app data controls, or clear Calority's data in Health Connect.

Are there streaks, badges, or ads?

No. Calority has no forced gamification and no advertising. It's built to help you track calories and protein without pressure.

Which devices are supported?

Calority is an Android app. iOS is not supported at this time.
